The commission ullmaitety recommended that student progression and the types of degrees conferred should hold higher weight in determining state funding allocation versus student enrollment. I can see that Georgia is pushing for more STEM professionals to come out of college. I understand that this is the most practical thing to do because not only are students incentivized to pursue degrees that lead to good pay but it also helps economic growth since there's a workforce gap. In a way, it's a push away from liberal arts degrees which I think are the most fun subjects but aren't the most practical. :(
