rings over & over--even soon as we informed 'em that we reported them--i contacted Publishers Clearing home & verified and reported this was a scam--and we reported 'em to the FCC. PCH states this happens all the time--and the fraudsters take thousands of dollars with vulnerable people. the more people who report it to the FCC, the more likely these devils will be caught.

Called and said there was action on a Visa card that was supposed to be mine.

Even when you owe on a debt do not make any payment agreements with a debt collector cos you've no contract with 'em to pay this. Making a payment agreement with 'em over the telephone would be considered a verbal agreement. Let 'em recognise that you're gonna pay the firm that you've a debt with & not them. Be company in informing 'em this. make payments to the firm these people will accept them. You only have a contract with the firm you owe & not a 3rd party collection agency.
